MBR was created knowing first hand the HR challenges businesses face.
The creation and implementation of HR processes can be daunting. The founders of MBR recognized this and created HR solutions to help companies manage these challenges.


MBR was created to fill a need.
As an owner of multiple businesses, Rick Lane knew first-hand the real challenges that owning and running a business presents. Banking, IT, recruiting, hiring, payroll, marketing, worker’s compensation, unemployment claims – all of these things fall into an owner’s lap. They take up time and energy that owners would much rather spend with their customers and generating revenue.
Rick turned to a friend and former co-worker, Rachel Kutay for help in solving some of these problems. Using her strong background in HR, Operations, and Marketing, Rachel was able to quickly resolve many of these challenges. Rachel took these items off Rick’s plate, solved his challenges, and connected him with better qualified, more responsive partners to support Rick’s businesses.
A partnership is born.
Rick knew he wasn’t the only owner facing these challenges. He and Rachel began discussing the idea of helping small businesses in the same way – and very quickly, My Business Resource was born.
Since the fall of 2019, My Business Resource has grown from one friend helping another to a true consultancy, with a team of professionals focused on partnering with small business owners to remove the obstacles to growth and provide them with the expertise and tools to run their businesses more effectively.

Richard A. Lane
Managing Partner
Rick has over 30 years of experience in sales, operations, and business ownership. Rick believes in treating customers like clients, and clients like family. As an owner of multiple small businesses, Rick understands the challenges that owners experience in every area of their businesses.
Rick believes that one of the responsibilities everyone at MBR has is to listen to our clients – we look at the whole picture of our client’s businesses when making recommendations. What differentiates us from our competitors is that we offer solutions directly tailored to our clients’ businesses.

Rachel L. Kutay
SPHR, Co-Owner, Human Resources Executive
Rachel has a Bachelor’s degree in Management & Leadership, along with a Lean Manager Certification and Six Sigma White Belt. Rachel is also a licensed Notary Public in Ohio. She has over 15 years of experience in Human Resources spanning multiple industries in the public, private, and non-profit sectors. She has a deep background in employee selection, streamlining organizational processes, and identifying training and professional development needs. Rachel leads the MBR team in their day-to-day work, assisting the team to solve difficult employee relations challenges. Rachel is a certified Talent Optimization Consultant.

Chris Moscato
Talent Acquisition Manager
Chris’ career has given him experience in customer service and finance, including work as a Senior Project Manager at JP Morgan Chase. He most recently fulfilled a lifelong ambition to work for an organization that has the mission to end hunger at the Mid-Ohio Food Collective, where he was the project manager for multiple projects, mostly recently including the Mid-Ohio Farm. Chris received his MBA in Finance from the Baker College Center for Graduate Studies in 2014. Chris lives in Grove City with his wife and son. He is extremely active in the Columbus community, volunteering for Envision Hilltop, Grove City Area Chamber of Commerce, Keep Grove City Beautiful, Grove City Rotary, the Grove City Diversity Task Force, as well as the PTA and Cub Scouts. Chris was recently honored as part of the Columbus Young Professionals Class of 2022 “Next Up Columbus” Award in recognition of his work as an emerging leader who is making a positive impact on Central Ohio and the future of Columbus.

Jennifer Kelley
Jen is an experienced HR expert who excels at establishing rapport and relationship building within a multitude of industries, including education, manufacturing, construction, distribution and professional services. Jen is experienced in supporting strategic HR initiatives to help companies improve performance, using practical methodologies and approaches to deliver efficient programs to accomplish business objectives. Jen has multiple certifications in Human Resources and is a Notary Public.

Teresa Vaught
Talent Acquisition Coordinator
Teresa provides administrative assistance to our team, crafting job descriptions and maintaining databases with candidate information. She ensures that our recruitment process runs smoothly, and we recruit qualified and high-performing candidates for our clients. Teresa is a certified Talent Optimization Consultant.

Archie Taylor
Human Resources Consultant
Archie is an experienced, effective, and collaborative leader in Human Resources. He has over 20 years of experience in Human Resources in multiple industries including restaurants, retail, architecture, construction, and corporate office settings. Archie has proven success in leading HR strategic initiatives and guiding employees and managers in HR best practices to contribute to the business strategy. He is a successful innovator in process improvement to resolve challenges and additionally has a Six Sigma White Belt. Archie is an expert in all aspects of HR, including benefits administration, compensation, recruiting, policy development, records management, employee relations, conflict resolution, training and staff development.
